Oriental Poppy

An Oriental Poppy, 20 x 30" watercolour. This work is still in progress.

It seems like I am having limited time to paint this week so I have nothing finished to show you. I thought that I would show you instead something that I am working on now. I want to develop some of the rear right petals just a bit more, but not too much. I want to avoid overworking any of it. I am having a lot of fun with this one. I started it in the summer and put it away as I was not pleased with how it was progressing. It came out 2 or 3 weeks ago and I have been dabbing away at it when I can, and am enjoying it much more this time. I have it propped up in my studio so that I can see it when I walk in and every time it jumps off the wall at me and says "look at me!" I hope you enjoy this one as much as I do.
